"Experience the Market"

The Market is back....bringing a touch of the country, to the heart of the city.Create a sustainable lifestyle or just come to shop and enjoy a Saturday morning with your family, friends and neighbors in beautiful, historic, downtown York. The market provides the community with fresh, seasonal, locally grown fruits and vegetables, herbs, flowers, honey, bake sale items, and eggs. As well as handmade crafts, candles, soap, leather goods, pottery, ...and new this year, something for your furry friends, and SO MUCH MORE! Every Saturday morning, the market will be transformed into a creative, educational, homey and lively community gathering place. The market is FREE to vendors and to the public. The market will feature live, local entertainment, an Earth Day celebration, "Ask a Master Gardner", "Wellness Day", a tractor show and 4H farm day, cooking and bar-b-q demonstrations by local chefs, bake sales, face painting, horse drawn carriage rides, and seasonal events. New this year is a monthly Yard Sale on the first Saturday. Non-profits, scouts, and church groups are invited to participate with hot dog sales, bake sales, lemonade stand, etc. Local clubs, churches and businesses are invited to have information booths as well. The farmers market is located on N Congress St, open Saturdays from 8:00AM-Noon. Stay and sit a spell...

and you can do just that... The York Downtown Fresh Market were given these lovely benches where you can come and just sit & visit with your neighbors but I'm sure you will be tempted to take a peek at all the lovely & fresh things that the vendors lovingly bring out every Saturday morning to share with the community.

Here's a sampling of the sights and scents you will find at the market...

Here's Henry with his mother and sister. Henry grew the produce himself! What a resourceful and hard working young man he is! Besides the home grown cucumbers, yellow squash & tomatoes,he grew zucchini, just look at the size of that
zucchini! Wow, great job Henry and thank you for joining us at the Market!

FRESH Green Beans!!

Small Thyme Farms had the cutest cucumbers, perfect for a salad or just dipping in your favorite dressing, yummm!

and adorable eggplant & peas!

Mr. Meakin continues to bring in the bounty from his garden! You can find him and other vendors there at the lot during the week too!

A big "WELCOME" to our new vendor, Randy! Randy and his wife have many years of experience creating beautiful leather goods. Just look at these gorgeous items! He also accepts custom orders. What a lovely gift these would make!

Valentine's Farms ~ Colleen, Ruth and Asa ~ This charming & down to earth family share so many items from their farm... Asa has fresh eggs & Colleen with her pretty, assistant Ruth :) make the most darling items. You can't miss their booth, just follow the wonderful fragrance that wafts thru the market from her handmade soaps... PURE BLISS... like walking in a fragrant garden.. Aromatherapy at it's best :)!

Pretty summer flowers in beautiful containers that were donated by Stacey's Nursery! Thank you Stacey's!!!

And here's Baby Arianna enjoying the new bench :)!

There's alot of improvements in the works for the lot that will only add to the already friendly and inviting welcome that you receive at the York Farmers Market!! Come Visit Us, we'd love to see you!

Thanks to all the vendors and neighbors that continue to make the market a reality and success! Can't do it without ya'!!
