"Everything you need to know about life can be found in the garden".

Everything you need to know about life you can learn in the garden. Patience, kindness, generosity, and compassion are the virtues that are usually bestowed upon every gardener. It is that connection we have with the earth and all that grows from it that makes us who we are.

The Market in the Herald today!

Hankering for homegrown
Demand for local fruits, veggies means benefit for area growers

...The downtown farmer's market in York, which opened in April and is newly organized this year, features a broader array of locally produced items, from produce to crafts and honey.
"Originally, there were a lot of homemade items, home-grown or handmade," said the market's organizer, Signa Curry. "Now that the produce is starting to come in, it's a real combination of a lot of different things."
They include local honey, homemade soaps, free-range eggs, some crafts and a lot of herbs, she said. "So many gardeners have told me, 'As soon as our gardens are in, we will be there.'"
In the right place, such markets can be a thriving hub for the community, said Curry, who is focusing on growing and expanding the market.
"It's a popular thing over the last couple of years with the market to feature some extra things, because of the cottage industry, people are making things from home," she said.
Some examples at the York market include organic pet food, homespun knitted purses and hats and gourmet spices and teas. "It's the community's market," she said.

Thank you to the Herald for the article!! Let's keep getting the word out!

Hello everyone!

Just thought I'd report on our first "Downtown Live" market night.....we had light turnout but the vendors did do business, and more produce is on it's way! This was such a pleasant surprize! Oh, if you could only have seen the new, baby red potatoes, and the cucumbers and tomatoes, just to name a few. I've been in contact with a few of the peach farmers in the area and we've been promised the little gems in the next week or two. This was such great news! I started thinking about what's next...melons and corn....oh, yum:) I'd like to say "welcome" to our newest vendor Robin, and we'll look forward to seeing her again soon with her pottery and other goodies. I hear some exciting things are yet to come form Small Thyme Farm too....can't wait to see. That's all for now, just wanted to say hi and I truly look forward to seeing you all Saturday. Signa
